On April 21, the Ministry of industry and information technology issued the 《Guiding Opinions of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission on the High-quality Development of Chemical Fiber Industry》. According to the guidance, by 2025, the output of bio based chemical fiber and degradable fiber materials will increase by more than 20% annually.

The guidance also proposes to accelerate the development of bio based chemical fibers and degradable fiber materials:

1. Bio based chemical fiber raw materials. Break through the efficient preparation technology of pulp, solvent, crosslinking agent, fiber grade 1,3-propanediol, succinic acid, 1,4-butanediol, furan dicarboxylic acid, high light purity lactide and other bio based monomers and raw materials.

2. Bio based chemical fiber. Improve the key technologies for large-scale production of lessel fiber, polylactic acid fiber, bio based polyamide fiber, propylene terephthalate fiber, polyethylene furan dicarboxylate fiber, seaweed fiber, chitosan fiber and so on. The green manufacturing technologies of cellulose fibers such as ionic liquid solvent method (ILS method) and low-temperature urea method were studied.

3. Degradable fiber material. Overcome the preparation technologies of PBAT (copolymer of butanediol adipate and butanediol terephthalate), PBS (polybutylene succinate), PHBV (polyhydroxybutyrate valerate), FDCA based polyester (furan dicarboxylate based polyester), PHA (polyhydroxyfatty acid ester), PCL (polycaprolactone), etc. We will promote the industrialization and application of poly (3-hydroxyalkanoate) (PHA), poly (butylene succinate co butylene terephthalate) (PBST) and other materials in an orderly manner.
